Dr. med. Michael Michelsen

Specialist in Orthopedic Surgery and Traumatology FMH

Interventional Pain Therapy SSIPM,

Manual Medicine / Chiropractise SAMM

What is treated:

Back pain (lumbago) with or without radiation into the legs, with disc problems and arthrosis of the spine.

What can be done:

Endoscopic minimally invasive spinal interventions using keyhole technology for herniated discs and spinal canal stenosis. The keyhole technology leads to minimal tissue trauma, as the endoscope is guided through the muscles and ligaments similarly to an infiltration needle, without severely severing them. Depending on the access, the "natural openings" of the spine are used and slightly expanded if necessary. This protects muscles, ligaments and tendons. As with an arthroscopic examination, there is only an incision a few millimeters in size. The endoscope's optics are able to display all anatomical structures in the surgical area.
